Get your calendars ready, because this early edition of the Weekly Update is full of great events!

Well, it's been a busy couple of days at The Shadow Over Portland office (better sounding that at my dining table), as I've come across a lot of wonderful events happening around the Pacific Northwest.  And, not surprising, a few have to do with Valentines Day.

Yep, we all know nothing says "I love you" more than going into a dark theater or creepy haunted attraction with your sweetheart and having the living hell scared out of you!

Oh, I love cherry filled chocolates!
They are cherry filled, right?

And, as always, The Shadow Over Portland is here to help in that regard.  You'll find information and links to the new Resident Evil Escape Experience, two local haunted attractions with some romantic themes between the screams, the NerdNightOut music and comedy show, more films in the PIFF After Dark Series and the upcoming Eat Your Heart Out Film Festival!

But, if you want to see what is coming up in the rest of February, as well as throughout 2017, visit the Horror Calendar, with updates on Crypticon Seattle, The H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival, and a stage production of The Addams Family coming in June!

As this is Women in Horror Month, both PDXtreme and the Portland Horror Film Festival are offering discounts for women filmmakers.  You'll find details below and on the Open Film Submission Page.

Remember, getting your horror/sci fi/fantasy event listed on The Shadow Over Portland is FREE and easy.  Just email me at shadowoverportland@live.com and I'll be happy to add it to the site.

And remember, if you attend any of the events listed below, let the organizers know you read about it at The Shadow Over Portland!
