A soggy March ends with some great excuses to stay inside!

I'm not sure if it's the same for the rest of the Pacific Northwest, but here at The Shadow Over Portland office in Portland, OR, it's been a very wet month.  In fact, we have a good shot of this being the wettest March on record, as the sun isn't expected to make much of an appearance until Friday.  And early April isn't looking too dry either.

A typical waterlogged Northwest couple sporting a bit
more moss than usual for this time of year.
Though you were probably staying inside for the next couple of weeks, no one said you had to stay inside at home!  This edition of the Weekly Update is full of great movies happening in the area, with cult classics, new favorites and a few in GLORIOUS 70mm.  Monster Roulette returns to The Joy Cinema, Feathers and Teeth continues its run at the Artists Repertory Theatre, the Freak-A-Zoid Vintage Media Market takes place on April 1, First Friday returns to Wells and Verne on April 7, and the PUFF and the Bonebat Comedy of Horrors Film Festival arrive on the first full week of April.

As for the rest of April, and May as well, be sure to check out the Horror Calendar, with updates on genre movies at the Rio Theatre and information on The Overlook Film Festival happening later in April.  In May, plan to check out the Twin Peaks Dance Party, the 15th Annual Vampire's Masquerade Ball, Crypticon, the UFOfest, The Empire Strips Back at the Rio Theatre, and lots of great movies!  Don't forget, the calendar is updated every few days, so be sure to check back!!

If you want your event listed on The Shadow Over Portland, just email me at shadowoverportland@live.com and I'll add it to the calendar.  You'll reach hundreds of horror/sci fi/fantasy fans throughout the Pacific Northwest and, best of all, listing on the site is FREE!

And, should you attend any of the events listed below, please let the organizers know you read about it at The Shadow Over Portland!!
