April might bring showers, but it also brings some great events of interest to Northwest genre fans!

The old rhyme of April showers bringing May flowers is based on the spring cycle of renewal, as rain and rising temperatures makes conditions favorable for flowering plants.  But at The Shadow Over Portland office, our horticultural endeavors require a bit more than showers and warming climates.

If you listen, you can here them snoring.
They're so cute at this age!

Of course, the process is a bit draining, so I'd better get this edition of the Weekly Update out before I have to fertilize the little nippers again.  And I do have a lot to share, including some great films playing at Cinema 21 (Donnie Darko, Raw, Colossal), The Void spreading to several theaters, screenings of Blood Diner and The Slumber Party Massacre, and much more!

Don't forget to check the Horror Calendar, for more great events happening through the rest of the month, and later in the year.  You'll find several genre burlesque tributes, lots of movies and film festivals, the return of Re-Imagined Radio to the Kiggins Theatre and much more!!

Remember, you can get your event listed on the site just by emailing me at shadowoverportland@live.com.  That's all you need to do.  Not only is getting your event on the site easy, it's FREE!

And, should you attend any of these events, please let the organizers know you read about it at The Shadow Over Portland.
