Never underestimate the power of Michelle Yeoh with googly eyes!

I thought once I gave up posting superhero movies on the site, working on the site would be easier.  But that was before Michelle Yeoh hit the screen with googly eyes and Everything Everywhere All at Once won so many Oscars.  A full YEAR after the film's release, theaters keep adding it and extending screenings, forcing me to place it in a new heading titled Still in Theaters.  I can't imagine it will keep going, but the Oscars were almost a week ago and the movie is still being shown!

I HAVE THE POWER!

It's a great film, and if you haven't seen it on the big screen, don't miss it.  I'm serious.  Not too many movies would hold my interest during a heart-felt talk between two rocks with googly eyes.  The cast is great, the fight scenes are amazing and the film really leaves you feeling good despite the mayhem and multi-verse jumping.  And I'm just gonna say, the IRS awards Jamie Lee Curtis' character points out early in the film pays off in an unexpected, hilarious way.

Anyway, let's get to the Weekly Update, which is full of great films and live events.  I'm pretty certain you'll find something cool to do or see in your area.

And the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar is up to date, at least for now.  I'm always adding to it, so you'll want to keep checking back as you plan out the rest of the year.

That's all I have for now.  Stay safe and healthy, and I'll be back next week with more great events happening under The Shadow Over Portland.

If you'd like to support the site, please visit my Ko-fi page.  Thank you!
