Time to get into the holiday spirit with this edition of the Weekly Update!

What, you thought I'd post a picture of Santa?

I'm posting this edition of the Weekly Update a day earlier, as I don't want anyone to miss out on The Portland Horror Trivia Massacre, which I recently added to the calendar.  And, while tickets for tonight's screening of Silent Night, Deadly Night at the Hollywood Theatre are still available, that probably won't be the case for long, so if you want to go, buy a ticket soon!

As for the rest of the month, I've posted every event I could find in December down below.  And most of them are movies, ranging from family fantasies to dystopian horrors, holiday scares to Die Hard, you'll also find details on the Dark Solstice show on Saturday, December 21, just to add a bit of variety.

But it's the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar that you'll want to check out.  I've found a lot of great events, from movies to cons, bazaars to geeky stage shows, coming in 2020.  Be sure to take a look and to keep checking back, as I add events as quick as I find them.

If you want your event listed on the site, email me with the details and promotional artwork at shadowoverportland@live.com, and I'll get it posted as soon as possible.  Best of all, you won't be charged for it.

And now, to get you in the holiday spirit, here's an animated version of A Christmas Carol to enjoy.  For some reason, it wasn't one of the more popular holiday specials to come out of the 70s, even with Alastair Sims returning to the role of Scrooge and the film winning the Oscar from Best Animated Short Film after a theatrical run.  I think the reason it's been overlooked by many is the short follows Dicken's work very closely, as it's dark and the ghosts are damn creepy!  Enjoy!!

I'm back...

I want to start by apologizing for my unexpected hiatus.  Unfortunately, most of last month involved dealing with a host of issues, both in my personal life and at the day job.  Throw in a nasty cold to start out December, and I can honestly say I spent the last forty days feeling all my energy, inspiration and creativity squeezed out of me like toothpaste from a tube.

Yep, it was kind of like this...
except it happened every freaking day!

But I'm back at the computer now, with several projects I wanted to finish before New Year waiting for me, and a lot of catching up to do at The Shadow Over Portland.  I've been working to update the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar, and while I'm know a few events are still out there, I think I've most of the Pacific Northwest genre events covered for the coming week.  And remember, if you know of one I missed, you can email me at shadowoverportland@live.com with the details and promotional art, and I will list it on the site for FREE.

If I missed your event while I was gone, I apologize and promise to make certain the next one gets on the site.  And I'm sorry I wasn't able to post any Weekly Updates last month.  But The Shadow Over Portland is back and will continue to keep fans up to date on all the great Pacific Northwest Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Events into 2020 and beyond!
