Sorry I'm so late to file this edition of the Weekly Update, but to paraphrase Dr. Ian Malcom, life finds a way to mess with your schedule.  And it did for me this week.

And having said that, I am going to use this clickbait image.  Yep, I will sink that low.

But my tardiness doesn't mean I don't have some great Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy films to share with Pacific Northwest Fans.  And you'll want to visit the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar later in the week, as I'll be adding the theaters showing A Quite Place Part II and Cruella.  Or just wait for the next edition of the Weekly Update.  But I will warn you, while I hope to have it out before Friday, I get my second Covid-19 shot next week, so we'll see if I have a severe enough reaction to keep me away from the office.

Until next time, everyone stay safe, keep wearing your masks and practicing social distancing, get vaccinated and I hope to see you at a convention or film festival this summer!

The Disney film Raya and the Last Dragon continues at the McMenamins Kennedy School Theater (5736 NE 33rd Ave in Portland, OR).  Or you could watch Scott Pilgrim vs. the World on Saturday, May 15, only at 7 pm.  Follow the link for showtimes, advance ticket sales and Covid rules.

Raya and the Last Dragon is also at the Joy Cinema and Pub (11959 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard, OR) through Sunday, May 16, along with The Terminator (through Monday, May 17) and Flash Gordon on Saturday, May 15.  The link will get you to showtimes and advance ticket sales.

Also, the Clinton Street Theater (2522 SE Clinton St in Portland, OR) will bring back The Rocky Horror Picture Show at 9 pm Saturdays, but attendance is limited to 50 people inside.  Tickets must be purchased in advance, so visit the link for ticket sales and Covid rules.

The Granada 3 Theatre (1311 Adams Ave in La Grande, OR) is showing Spiral: From the Book of Saw this week.  Click on the link for showtimes, advance ticket sales and Covid rules.

Over at the 99W Drive-In (3110 Portland Rd in Newberg, OR), you can catch The Resort, about a group of investigators heading to an abandoned resort in Hawaii to explore the legend of the Half-Faced Girl (do I need to say things go terribly wrong?) after the Jason Stathan action film Wrath of Man.  The films play through Sunday, May 16.  Visit the Facebook page for details.

2020's Unearth is still screening on the Kiggins Theatre Virtual Screening Room.  The cast includes scream queen Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog, Creepshow), P. J. Marshall (American Horror Story) and Rachel McKeon (Jessica Jones), and concerns two neighboring farm families finding their relationships strained when on leases their land to a natural gas company.  If you're wondering if something is unleashed, well, the tag line does call it a "fracking horror story."  Click on the link for more details.
