It's an extra long edition of the Weekly Update, to help you prepare for the next heat wave.

If you haven't noticed, it appears the upcoming break in the extreme heat won't be around for long.  The current extended forecast for the Pacific Northwest shows more hot weather starting next weekend.  While current temperatures are predicted to stay in the 90s (about 32C), the heat will continue into next week.

I'm not sure people can actually melt due to hot weather, but if they can, this will be me before the end of August.

To help you start planning where you want to spend time when temperatures rise again, this edition of the Weekly Update includes all the events I've found in the second week in August.  I'm certain it's not complete, as some films will be carried over and not all theaters have their schedule planned out so far in advance.  But it's a start, and you might find the perfect event or film to help you escape the heat.

But don't worry if none of the current offerings are to you liking.  As always, I'll be adding events to the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar, so check there in a few days, if you want to know what else is coming to your area.

Once again, I'm at the day job, so I'm keeping this short.  Take care, stay hydrated, and I'll be back next week with another Weekly Update from The Shadow Over Portland.

If you'd like to support the site, please visit my Ko-fi page.  Thank you!
