It's beginning to feel like we'll have Halloween this year!

Covid-19 restrictions are starting to loosen up on a weekly basis and, while I think it's a bit early to let our guard down too much, it's nice to think that film festivals and conventions are going to be back by the end of the year.  And we might have a Halloween this year!

And that's a reason to applaud!

And this edition of the Weekly Update has some great movies for Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Fans in the Pacific Northwest. Not all venues are open yet, but it's looking more likely to happen very soon.  Until then, enjoy this list of great movies playing under The Shadow Over Portland!

I do have one favor to ask.  If you know of a local venue that's open, or will be opening soon, send me an email at shadowoverportland@live.com with a link to their website, so I can include them in future editions of the Weekly Update and in the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar which I'll be updating soon.  Thanks!

Genre fans will find a trio of great movies to check out this weekend at the Joy Cinema (11959 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard, OR).  Godzilla vs. Kong is playing from Friday, May 21, to Monday, May 24.  Jurassic Park is playing Saturday and Sunday, May 22 and 23, with Army of Darkness playing Friday and Saturday, May 21 and 22.  Check the link for showtimes, advance ticket sales and Covid rules.

Please be respectful to the venue you visit.  Follow the rules, bring a mask and wear it when you're asked to, buy tickets in advance (as seating is limited) and be nice to your fellow movie goers and the theater employees.
