This edition of the Weekly Update is full of things to keep you cool inside, or get you out in the sun!

Looks like things are warming up across the Pacific Northwest, with rising temperatures and sunny skies in the forecast.  Seems the Portland area and cities to the south are bracing for 90 degree temperatures, and I'm sure many Pacific Northwest Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Fans are looking to keep cool in a dark, air conditioned theater.

Damn, it's too hot on the river!
Time to check out a movie!!

But even if you want to get out and enjoy the warm weather, this edition of the Weekly Update is full of great events both inside and outdoors.  I've included the genre films in Portland's Movies in the Park series (I'll have Seattle's listings in the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar this weekend), as well as the Dark Market heading to Pacific City Park this weekend.  Of course, you'll also find plenty of films in theaters to get you a break from all the sunshine.

As for the future, The Hollywood Theatre in Portland, OR, just released their schedule for the Marathon of the Apes in August.  The marathon includes the original five films, as well as the three films in the series reboot.  I'll have the dates listed on the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar soon, but head down to the Buy Tickets Now section of the update for a link containing showtimes and advance ticket sales (strongly recommended).

Speaking of the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar, it's full of fun events for the rest of the year, and into 2019!  As I mentioned, I'll be adding to it this weekend, so be sure to check it out later for the latest news of movies, stage productions and conventions coming to the Pacific Northwest!!

Remember, it's never too early to have your event posted on the site.  You'll reach hundreds of Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Fans across the Pacific Northwest and it won't bust your advertising budget, as listings on The Shadow Over Portland are FREE!  Just send me an email with all the details and promotional art at shadowoverportland@live.com and I'll do the rest!!

And please help spread the word.  If you attend any of the events listed below, let the organizers know you read about it at The Shadow Over Portland!
