Man, it was a rough weekend. In just one day, we lost Martian Landau, a terrific actor with lots of Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy work, and the father of modern zombies, George A. Romero.
I know I'm still thinking about this, and I'm sure many of you are as well. So I'd like to dedicate this edition of the Weekly Update to both men, and all the contributions they made to the films and television shows we love. Mr. Landau and Mr. Romero, we will miss you both and we will never forgot you.
I'm going to suggest checking the
Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar over the next few days, as I suspect many theaters will be paying tribute to these men over the next few weeks, and I'll add them as soon as possible. Please, if you hear of any events in the Pacific Northwest paying tribute to these two men, please email me at shadowoverportland@live.com and I'll add it to the site.
Below, you want to check out the
OMSI 2017 Sci Fi Film Festival, with screenings of old classics and new favorites. It's an impressive line up, running through August 5, so check out the
Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar for films coming in August. You'll also find details on the tribute screening of
Night of the Living Dead in Seattle, and many other films and events, both inside and outdoors, to keep you busy through July.
Remember, now is the time to get your October events listed on The Shadow Over Portland. Just email me at shadowoverportland@live.com with the details and I'll do the rest. It's easy, and FREE!
And, should you attend any of the events listed below, let the organizers know you read about it at The Shadow Over Portland!!
