Sorry for the late Weekly Update, but it's been a hellacious couple of days.

Well, the heat seems to have been the least of my problems this week.  The day job that keeps the lights on at The Shadow Over Portland office heaped a lot of issues my way last week, so I spend a good deal of time regrouping over the weekend.  Okay, that translates to laying about and watching movies, but I though a good start on Monday would take the edge off.

Boy, was I mistaken.

You thought Monday would be a new start.
Well, I've got a few more friends to send your way,
BOOOOOY!

This week was tough, but today was especially painful.  It started off with a major computer glitch that occupied my entire lunch break, as I hope to find a way to keep my laptop from becoming a massive paperweight.  I'm still not sure what happened, but I've got it working again and have figured out some shortcuts should the problem reappear.  Add in another "stellar" day at work and it all led to a late start on this post.  I just hope I didn't miss anything, and apologize if something fell through the massive cracks I had to navigate around during the past few days.

But I've also made a few steps forward on some personal projects (more to come on those!) and, best of all, I found out I will be a guest at the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival and Cthulhucon this year!  I'll be sure to post what panels I'll appear on, so stay tuned and please stop by to listen to my ramblings of all thing Lovecraft!  Or just stop me and say hello at the festival.  I'm the big bald guy in the black kilt and Lovecraft Festival tee shirts.  It's hard to miss me!

It's my favorite place to be on the
first weekend in October!

Also, I will be on the Universal Unite! panel at Rose City Comic Con on Saturday, September 9, at 4:30 pm.  I'll be joining panel creator Derek M. Koch, podcasting legend and host of Monster Kid Radio podcast (if you don't listen to his weekly shows, you should!), local author and incredible monster kid Dominique Lamssies and former writer for Living Dead Magazine and Mothra fan Jeff Dean, to discuss the history of the classic Universal Monster Rallies and how the Dark Universe might move forward.  Stop by and check it out!!

I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon,
at a comic con talking Universal Monsters!

Enough self promotion, let's get to the Weekly Update you're waiting for.  You'll find a lot of great stuff happening this week, including lots of movies, stage productions and a toy and geek con!  Be sure to check out the Buy Tickets Now! section below, as I've added a few upcoming events you'll want to get tickets for before they sell out.

On the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar, I've added a few films in the Kubrick on Film series at The Hollywood Theatre in Portland, OR, and the schedule for Friday Night Frights in Tacoma, WA, through the rest of the year!

And visit the Open Auditions page, as I've added a few Pacific Northwest haunted attractions looking for actors and behind the scene people this Halloween season.  I'll be adding more information as it becomes available, so be sure to keep checking back!

Remember, adding your event to The Shadow Over Portland is easy and FREE!  Just email me at shadowoverportland@live.com, or message me on Facebook, provide me with the details and applicable links, and I'll take care of the rest.

And, should you attend any of the events you find on the site, let the organizers know you read about it at The Shadow Over Portland!!
