Holy Cthulhu, summer just started and already, the Pacific Northwest is bracing for some scorching temperatures, breaking 100 degrees F. Not that we didn't come close to such temperatures last weekend, but sunny and hot is in the forecast for most of next week. And if you've visited this site during past summers, you know how well I react to hot, sunny days.
Yep, that about sums it up.
Exposure to the summer sun results in a black, crispy tan for me.
Of course, heading to a movie theater is always a great way to beat the heat. I wish I could say there's lots of films for Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Fans showing this week, but pickings are a bit slim week. Still, if you want to plan ahead, the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar has been updated with all the genre films at the Northwest Film Center's Cinema Unbound Summer Movies and Open-Air Experiences, as well as details on the Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival Summer 2021 in July, Crypticon Seattle in August and the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival and CthulhuCon in October. I've also included the July genre films at Weekdays at the Whiteside Theatre in Corvallis, OR, as well as the genre films filling up the schedule at the Rio Theatre in Vancouver, BC.
Remember, check the links included below to read current Covid regulations at the venues, and if advance ticket purchases are required (which is the case at many theaters).
