It shouldn't be a surprise to see the movies Jaws and Independence Day turn up in theaters across the Pacific Northwest next week. After all, both films take place on the Fourth of July, feature a group of rag tag humans battling monstrous forces and look AMAZING on the big screen.
The hell with staying in the city!
Let's head to the beach, it's safer there.
Or maybe not...
Of course, this edition of the Weekly Update has plenty of other Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy events happening across the Pacific Northwest, from films to cons and stage events. But I do suggest checking with the venue before heading out on Wednesday, if you're in the US, as some theaters will be closed for the holiday. But don't worry, the following weekend is full of terrific events and movies to keep you busy.
Be sure to visit the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar, as I've got the genre offerings from the Rusty Grape Vineyard Movies on the Lawn series in Battleground, WA, the list of films in the Cold War Shivers series at Cinema 21 in Portland, OR, workshops presented by the Davis Graveyard in Milwaukie, OR, film offerings from Weird Elephant at the Grand Cinema and Friday Night Frights in Tacoma, WA, and MUCH MORE! I've even got new listings in 2019 for you to check out!!
And before I forget, the 13th Door Haunted House PDX in Beaverton, OR, is having open auditions for actors this weekend! Head to the Open Auditions page for more details and a link to the site.
Remember, it's never too early to get your event posted on The Shadow Over Portland. All you need to do is email me at shadowoverportland@live.com with the details and any promotional artwork, and I'll do the rest. And, as always, it's FREE to list your event here!
And remember, if you attend any of the events listed below, let the organizers know you read about it at The Shadow Over Portland!!
