Okay, hold off commenting until you read the entire post, please. The Oregon Historical Society will present a one-time only screening of
Deafula at
Hollywood Theatre (4122 NE Sandy Blvd in Portland, OR) tonight at 6:30 pm. Last shown at the Paramount Theatre in 1975, this Oregon made film was produced using a mix of both hearing and deaf actors, and is the first feature film performed completely in American Sign Language (an audio track and musical score is included for viewers not fluent in ASL). Producer Gary Holstrom (who also plays Dracula in the film) will be present for a Q and A after the screening.
