Things are finally thawing out. And now it's time to support local businesses!.

First, let me say I'm sorry for the very late edition of the Weekly Update.  The day job doesn't shut down due to bad weather, and I ended up sleeping at my worksite for a couple days, and call outs had me working extra hours.  And I was one of those calling out due to the weather, as I hit the ground due to the ice, and managed to get home cold, wet and hurting, and unwilling to try to try getting to the bus stop once again.

Didn't end up this bad, but I was just done.

And using public transit was difficult, because of cancelations and long travel times due to the buses being chained.  In all, the time constraints and general fatigue kept me from working on the site.  Again, sorry for the delayed post.  Not that it had much of an impact, as I'm sure most events were likely cancelled.

But now, the weather is warming up, and the icy sidewalks and side roads are slowly melting.  And, when it's safe for you to travel, visit your locally owned theaters, restaurants and other venues.  They, and their employees, lost money over the past week, and need our support.  It's been a rough few years already, and the recent icy weather has strained them even further.   If we want them to stay open, now is the time to step up and give them as much monetary support as you can over the coming weeks.

And the Weekly Update has plenty of suggestions (again, check the links).  It might be a bit of an inconvenience, but I'm sure your locally owned businesses would appreciate you spending your money at their sites.

And lots of events have been rescheduled due to the weather, and I'll be adding them to the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar  in the next few days, so keep checking back.

That's all I have for now.  Stay safe, keep as warm as you can (especially those without power), and I'll be back next week with more great events happening under The Shadow Over Portland.
