And we have some sad news as well. But before we get to that, the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival and Cthulhuthon will take place IN PERSON at the Hollywood Theatre (4122 NE Sandy Blvd in Portland, OR) on October 1 to 3. Unlike past years, this festival will be confined to one theater, so you won't miss out on ANY of the films, shorts and such. Of course, that does mean other activities will be missing, but I'm just so glad the festival is on this year. Tickets, and some great swag, are currently available only through the Kickstarter campaign, but will soon be available through the Hollywood Theatre website.
If you can't be there in person, the festival will be streamed for a limited time starting on Friday, October 8. As with the in person event, tickets for the streaming festival (which might not contain all the films shown at the theater, due to licensing and other potential issues) are only available through the Kickstarter campaign, will soon be available on the streaming site Eventive.com.
The Kickstarter campaign ends on Wednesday, September 22, at 9 pm PDT, so you still have time to check it out.
As for the sad news, well, we have our first haunted attraction cancellation. Cyrils House Of Horrors in Roseburg, OR, has cancelled their 2021 season, out of concern for the health and well being of their actors, crew and guests. Sadly, I don't think this will be the last cancelled event, and I suspect others might change to a drive-through attraction, if they can. I'll be sure to keep you posted of any changes in all future events on the Horror/Sci Fi/Fantasy Calendar and the HALLOWEEN 2021 page, as well as in the Weekly Updates.
